Security Bond

A security bond of $500.00 is payable at the same time the balance of payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.  This bond will be held in trust and refunded as soon as the departure process has been completed for your booking.


Cleaning upon departure is provided within your booking rate.  This includes mopping and vacuuming of all floors, cleaning of all bathrooms, bedding/linen and wiping of surfaces only.  Each guest is responsible for ensuring the property is left reasonably tidy, dishes washed and put away and any furniture that is moved be returned to its original position.  Any excess cleaning required over and above the allowance will be on-charged to the guest responsible for the booking.

Number of Occupants

Each booking is approved on the basis and understanding that the number of occupants that will be residing in the property is the number stipulated on the Booking Confirmation.  If the number of occupants is found to exceed this total during the booking period, Great Escapes Queenstown reserves the right to request the property be vacated immediately and/or impose a surcharge.

Damage / Breakages

We understand breakages do happen, however it is important all breakages no matter how minor are reported to us immediately so we can ensure they are attended to and rectified for the next guest.

Any damage or replacement costs arising from negligent behaviour or even if it is accidental is the responsibility of the guest who made the booking and will be deducted from the security bond and/or on-charged to the credit card provided as security for the booking.  Any replacements and/or repairs will be sourced and carried out by Great Escapes Queenstown at their discretion.

Noise / Disturbance

We kindly ask that you respect the neighbours during your stay by keeping noise levels at a reasonable level, particularly after 8.00pm.  Each holiday home is for private residential use only.  If it is found that a large gathering, party or event is taking place within a holiday home, Great Escapes Queenstown reserves the right to evict all occupants immediately and terminate the booking with all pre-paid funds being retained.


No smoking is permitted within any of our holiday homes. You may smoke outside but we kindly ask that you ensure you dispose of any cigarette butts appropriately.

Keys & Garage Remotes

A secure lockbox is located on site.  One key will be provided to your group and we ask that you return the key to the lockbox each time the property is left unoccupied.  This is for the convenience of all guests and to also prevent any loss.  If a key is lost, a fee of $50.00 will be charged for a replacement.

Upon departure, garage remotes must be left in the property where initially collected.   The loss of a garage remote will result in a fee of $150.00 being charged.


We prefer you not move any furniture during your stay to avoid damage to walls or floors.  Any items that are moved must be returned to their original position prior to departure.


Please ensure your holiday home is locked and secure whenever the property is unoccupied with any appliances such as gas fireplaces, ovens etc. being turned off.


We understand that pets are part of the family but unfortunately they are not allowed at our holiday homes.


Vehicles must be parked appropriately in the parking areas provided with each home. A fee of $50.00 will be charged to the guest responsible for the booking in the event of a complaint being received by a neighbour in relation to any vehicle found to be blocking an access way or if there are excessive vehicles parked at the property.


Great Escapes Queenstown accepts no responsibility or liability for any acts of omission of third parties that may prevent or disrupt a guest’s booking.  The information and descriptions supplied for each home are believed to be accurate and are marketed in good faith.  Certain features, facilities or appliances may not be available from time to time due to circumstances outside our control for which we accept no liability.

No Liability is accepted by Great Escapes Queenstown for any injury, loss or damage to a guest, any member of the guest’s party or any visitor to the holiday home arising out of or in connection with the use of the property.

Unforeseen Circumstances

As each holiday home is privately owned, unforeseen circumstances can arise.  A home that has been reserved for a holiday booking may suddenly become unavailable (for example, an owner may decide to withdraw their property from the holiday home market, sell the property or decide to reside in the property permanently).  Although it is unlikely this will happen, Great Escapes Queenstown reserves the right to cancel the booking.  Every effort would be made to find alternative comparable accommodation with any paid funds returned in full.  No compensation will be payable for any inconvenience.

Credit Card Payments

Payments by credit card can be accepted through a secure payment gateway. The name that will appear on your statement will be Great Escapes Qtown. The address for service is 91 Mountain Road, Dalefield.
